Bowman Traps update and details of Fundraiser this Sunday at Naul CPSC

The Committee are delighted to announce that we took delivery of our Seven Brand New Bowman Traps this weekend from Mourne Shooting Grounds. This delivery included Batteries, Morrison Electronic Releases, Trollies and Cabling for all seven machines. This Equipment will be used by our affiliated clubs in the promotion of our Sport throughout the Country.

On Behalf of the Committee, Clubs and Membership of Clay Sports Ireland we would again like to take this opportunity to thank the Department of Trade Tourism and Sport for the award of this much needed grant to our Sport under the Sports Capital Program 2014.

These traps will firstly be in use this Sunday 22/03/2015 at the 100 Bird World Championship Fundraiser in Naul CPSC.

On the 29/03/2015(Following Sunday) the traps will be used at the first CSI 50 bird clay shoot at Harbour House Sports Club close to Athy Co. Kildare. Harbour House Sports Club are a newly affiliated CSI Club and this new equipment will hopefully enable Harbour House hold a 100 Target League event later on in 2015.

On Easter Sunday 05/04/2015 these Traps will be used at our first 100 Target league event at Ballinasloe CPC. It is hoped that this equipment will also enable Ballinasloe CPC run a marathon 15 stand League event later in 2015.

The Committee would like to thank Drumman CPC for running our third successful fundraiser last Sunday. We would like also to thank our Members for showing their support for the event.

We have committed to the running of these fundraising events to pay for our Teams Entry Fees and Kit for the main event at the upcoming World Sporting Championships at South Florida Gun-club. We are still a long way from achieving this goal and the Euro/Dollar Exchange rate is making the situation very difficult presently. We would encourage our clubs and members to give one last push and turnout in great numbers in support for our Clay Sports Ireland Team by supporting this event at Naul CPSC on Sunday. There will also be a 50 bird option in Naul CPSC on Sunday at a cost of €20 for any members who want to show their support for the team but don’t want to shoot the 100 bird event. Shooting Starts at 10:00am. Hope to see you all there.

Finally we would like to pass on our hearty Congratulations to Peter Hanifin on winning the Barney Mullen trophy at Courtlough on St. Patrick’s Day.

Please see below an image of our new equipment.

Nad Al Sheba Sporting Clays Championships

The Members and Committee of CSI would like to congratulate David Marshall on his incredible performance at the Nad al Sheba event in Dubai. David finished 7th overall just missing out on the final by one target and leaving a much vaunted field in his wake.

We were all treated to a shooting exhibition when David won the Thorntons shield in Drumman earlier this year and are delighted to see that he was able to follow that form up in this world class event with some of the worlds finest shooters participating, and also in very testing conditions.

WE also want to wish our congratulations to all our members that travelled and took part in the event.

Garda Shooting Club Donation

SAM_0003

Today in Mourne Shooting Grounds at the Clay Sports Ireland Fundraiser Shoot, Mandy Lowe presented a Garda Club cheque to Sean Gilliland towards the CSI Team representing us in the World English Sporting Championships for the second year running this April. This cheque represented the proceeds from the Christmas club raffle held by the Garda Shooting club.

Our sincere thanks go out to all members of the Garda Shooting Club for this generous gift and for their ongoing support and participation. This once again is a true testament to the commitment and concern of our members for our sport and their dedication in seeing it flourish.
